By turning of the lights in your home when they are not being you are both saving and not being wasteful.  Did you also know that unplugging other appliances when they are not in use would also save you money and again help all of us by not being wasteful.

Electricity is constantly being used by your coffee maker that is just sitter on the counter each day but only being used for an hour each morning.  Your blender that is on the counter is also using power even when it is just sitting there being a perfectly nice appliance just waiting to be used so it can make our life better.  

You may not want to unplug the microwave oven because the time light will blink and you have to reset it but those other appliances not in use, please unplug and make a difference.
